Survival Skills

...is our selfcare for living - Practicability.

Survival is our Lost Traditions 'our everyday basic Life Skills' - The know how we pass down, what we were taught, our creativity, inspiration, and the encouragement to learn the traditional ways as a kid growing up and not promoting survival as fear.

To understand the planet is to fit in and not to manipulate - live according to nature

"The modern way we are living is destroying the planet. I think we all recognize that. To change to a successful way of life, peoples first thought is all the stuff they're gonna have to give up. Whereas we can focus; is all the stuff you're gonna get. All the positive stuff. The first challenge is relearning how to live in a community. As our emphasis on money and consuming to fill all our needs" -  Joe Hollis View his website: Mountain Garden >

We don't all need to live and work on the land... To have a diversify of skills that can be exchanged for food, this can only happen if we return to our understanding of how nature works, so we can source our food, medicines, build our homes by hand, connected to where our fibres/materials come from and have the knowing we all have a roll to play.

You may be completely unaware of the everyday toxins you are using in your household and in your working environment that are playing havoc to your health and the environment. View natural products >

So many people feel a call back to it... It's deep inside us.

Master the techniques of a life returned to nature, and be dependent on our natural environment for survival - To take a step back from a manmade system that has gone far off track.

For a long-time, we have not been used to looking at survival as; prepping, building a good foundation, working together locally in a community and protecting our Lost Traditions. Life is now showing us we can't be dependent on a system where we have multiple TV's, cars, gadgets, an abundance of heavy processed convenience foods, and plastic goods of no value without putting the effort in - The comfortable driven life.

Getting back to survival means; using our hands, our time put to good use, and reconnecting to the land and immersing yourself in nature - True value.

“Survival of the world depends on sharing what we have, and working together.

… If we don't the whole world will die. First the planet, and next the people.”

~ Frank Fools Crow- Oglala Lakota Wicasa Wakan- 1915-1989,

Our relationship with nature

We all have the natural survival skills built in us, an innate awareness from birth. We just need to get back in touch, by revisiting the great outdoors and relearning - Keep it simple, one step at a time using common sense and the skills passed down.

The basic values of life

Providing for your family is an essential part of life - Man does this through being self-reliant and resourceful in surviving. By working in tune with nature and not trying to control nature... We have tried that. Work in harmony - Stewards on the land...

Permanent Culture

We recognize that…

Large scale industrial agriculture uses poisons that are destroying our microbiome, our water and our health - We can’t continue with trying to fix industrial made problems, we need a solution.

Years of chemical farming, means farmers need more water - In nature there is a balance...

The opposite of this system is the way forward, with permaculture into a regenerative edible landscape, without harming anything. From a single seed, to a million fruit in a few years - An abundance as nature intended... Living in harmony with the land and the animals.

Every convenience is a loss of a life skill, dependence is weakening you, while the independent are surviving.

People are giving up to technology, then trusting in themselves and becoming separated from nature. Such they can not live life's journey with their heart.

There are opportunities for everyone to relearn the essential life skills, and enjoy learning at the same time. It may mean getting out of your comfort zone, and join a group of like minded people on a mini adventure; walking, camping, kayaking... Giving your time, will be rewarded with building trust and confidence in yourself and your buddies.

Whether you are in the woods or the concrete jungle, knowing the basic survival skills are the necessaries of life...

Survival gear and tools is not a fad, good quality locally handmade with heart and soul, will last a lifetime that deserves to be looked after - Taking pride in taking care and looking after your kit, so it's reliable when you need it.

Basic life skills & techniques:

There are so many tasks you can use it for, from camp craft, to building shelters and how you can use nature to survive in the wild.

"The only people who ever get anyplace interesting are the people who get lost" - Henry David Thoreau

Where to start your survival journey? Ditch your TV and build a fire...

Whether building a fire outside or indoors, there is no better way to cook than on a real fire.

Fire - Radiant and immutable.

That takes your energy to prepare and maintain, that is not lost, it is merely transferred to give you a good feel back in return for the effort put in.

The biggest thing for me, is to see our young, put their phone down and get involved - The joy of life.

Making fire has been man's natural life partner dating back approximately 1,000,000 years and still plays a very important part today in man's life and for the environment.

Knowing how to build a fire gives life, to cook, stay warm and for protection. Building a fire will give you the understanding and confidence to face challenges in every situation in life.

Basic values:

The whole process of fire building is getting in tune with nature and connections with our ancestors. A real fire will take on a whole new meaning to those who have never built a fire and those who are reconnecting. It's like a magnet, an ancient warmth that welcomes you, a special place as nature itself to sit around on your own or a place to socialise, with a sense of what humans have been doing the whole time they've been on this planet. How life is supposed to be, and food never tastes so good!

Learn to start a fire, chop wood and leave the place untouched.

The most important things in life - 1. Meat 2. Water 3. Shelter and

4. To learn how to give out love; share what you have and the understanding that the wellbeing of one person affects the wellbeing of everyone...

Plus, Energy. We all use energy, we can't survive without it.

Living the right way; love of the land, to protect it, and to care for it.

Building Shelter

Just like fire, food and water, shelter is an essential part of our life.

In a crippling economy, if we end up having the worst-case scenario; coming from the biggest crash in history, and we end up living on the streets. That is what I did to feel good and the top of my list was staying in a bamboo hut, living with the locals, and travelling on a shoestring, for a real-life experience, simpler the better, where I felt more at home than in the UK.

There are still many Indigenous people and gipsies today 'The real nomad's' who uplift everything they own and move on, taking their family, animals and shelter with them. Still using the simple methods and skills for everything they need to survive. Not only very simple, but also the most sustainable way to live and our most natural.

"Sometimes I feel like I'd like to get rid of everything I have and just fit my world into a rucksack" Live simple - How life is about.

Wherever you are in the world, the moment you step out of your comfort zone, you will soon adapt to your surroundings and what you have available to you.

Food

Without it, we don't survive - "No one has the right to take your food"

Food - any nutritious substance that people or animals eat or drink or that plants absorb in order to maintain life and growth.

Junk convenient foods = Mineral Deficient, which means; disease, long-term suffering and taking a life of medications.

Understanding where your food comes from, how to store food to maintain nutrients and where you buy real food from.

  • Grow your own and build a community of growers to share

Money

Your most valuable asset - Have The Time To Breakaway.

"The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it" - Henry David Thoreau

Money is positive energy - An abundance.

"You can’t have wealth without good health" - Must be good.

Fair value - To be able to earn a living to feed your family.

Fair trade - To be able to exchange something of equal value.

  • Money 'Sovereign' that is backed by gold that is tangible, has a store of value and used to barter a unit of exchange, that works with a free market to decide on the price of goods and service, and the community grows. A win-win - Built on trust and honesty. How money used to work.
  • Currency 'Fiat' is introduced into circulation, created by the banks every time they lend and is the opposite to what the  value money can offer - Built on promises.
  • True economy is having your own house in order - Built on self-reliant.

The meaning of it all; using fiat currency, they can print what they want.

The trouble is, our relationship with money is not serving us. Chasing money and stuff of no value is a false reality and consumes your time and energy. Having a nice car is missing the point - Be financially responsible.

The understanding of managing money, budgeting and storing money to beat inflation or storing goods of value for a later date to make a transaction for something you need.

Fiat currency is negative energy - Devaluing purchasing power.

And to know our money is now a fiat currency. It may look like money but it's a debt based system that has inflation eating the value over time, that devalues your income, while increasing the cost of goods and services. From having an over supply of currency in circulation and a shortage of goods - the supply and demand.

Ludwig von Mises “crack-up boom” >

"These people still believe that prices will drop one day. Waiting for this day, they restrict their purchases and concomitantly increase their cash holdings. As long as such ideas are still held by public opinion, it is not yet too late for the government to abandon its inflationary policy.” “But then, finally, the masses wake up. They become suddenly aware of the fact that inflation is a deliberate policy and will go on endlessly. A breakdown occurs. The Crack Up Boom appears. Everybody is anxious to swap their money against “real” goods, whether he needs them or not, no matter how much money he has to pay for the. Within a few weeks or even days, the things which were used as money are no longer used as media of exchange. They become scrap paper. Nobody wants to give away anything against them.”

The price of everything is going to go up - Lose of purchasing power.

When it comes to survival, we can put our hard earned currency to good use. And buy supplies and good quality gear that will last a lifetime, we need for cooking and for our interests/skills, The things that have true value and not what we think will make us happy.
