Back On The Road. The Next Leg
Mini-Adventure series
With more time than money
A campervan journey from High Wycombe to Murcia Spain via Gex France.
.... Continued from the first leg:- https://www.losttraditions.org/back-on-the-road
After leaving the trusted house sitting in Gex. Now back on the road heading towards the South of France, Catalunya, Costa Brava, Valencia and to Murcia.

Catalunya
Full of great surprises, from medieval towns to volcano national park. Simply blown away and did not want to leave.
Route of the 3 waterfalls (Anna)
Anna's 3 Waterfalls Route is a hiking trail located in the municipality of Anna, in the province of Valencia.
Temperatures this time of year above 40 deg's C, the waterfalls was a pleasant surprise and a jungle feel.
Being the peak tourist season, and the hottest time of the year, finding fresh natural swimming pools is a temptation you just can't miss - energising.
Murcia
Joined the Murcia Hiking Club, a lovely group of people. And did my first evening/night hike. Hiking early morning or late evening has that golden hour feeling. Temperatures for July can reach 45 degrees.
The city of Murcia is much less touristy than the beach and the popular cities like Badalona and Sevilla. Giving a different experience, because you are mixing with locals, and their style of meeting up for a drink and enjoying a tapa. It's what I call a civilised way to socialise, with good company, good food in a good location.
The old city centre and the neighbourhoods ‘Barrios’ are full of tapas bars of various types, some dating back over 100 years, giving that good feel of not wanting to leave and soak up the atmosphere.
This is my 3rd visit staying in the city and with a Spanish family. Going to the markets to buy meat, fish, and cheese is a great pleasure. They will prepare the fish/meat for what dish you are going to cook.
With a wide range of fresh fruit and vegetables.
It's why I like coming back, the feeling of living like a local, and a different perspective of life.
Each region of Spain has its own beers, and the locals are proud to drink the local beer. In Murcia we drink Estrella de Levante... Eastern Star, more or less it translates to.
Una Canà - small glass
Una Copa - medium
Cafè solo - Espresso
For tapas, find a local to take you on a bit of a tour, or just follow your nose, you won't go wrong. All priced reasonably, makes the UK look expensive and the Spanish pride themselves in serving.
There are tapas that are only found in Murcia or are made slightly different.
